Dr. Bob’s musical career spans over five decades, with early expertise on trumpet, tenor sax, and strings, and by high school,
Bob was composing for the 90 piece school orchestra. By the early 60’s, Bob was performing in college concerts as a jazz pianist, and in 1969, met and established a close relationship and friendship as music/theory tutor to Jaco Pastorius. That relationship spawned music history when Jaco exploded onto the world’s jazz fusion scene. Dr. Bob’s music draws from his vast experiences and varied careers as Vietnam Era USAF Captain, Eye Doctor, US Coast Guard Sea Captain, tennis champ, and father….enriching his soul and compassion, expressed here in this exciting CD release.
“Under Full Sail” was conceived and produced aboard “Sea Sharp”, Dr. Bob’s 56 foot sailing ketch and home for 22 years, complete with full digital recording studio, where 8 of his musical creations were completed for this CD. Also featured, are two live concert recordings, one with world renowned musicians Duffy Jackson on drums, and Don Miller on acoustic bass… the other, in concert at the University of Florida.
