Dreux (pronounced Drew) a New Orleans native and Houston, Texas resident. Dreux grew up around great food and great music coming from the city known as "The Birthplace of Jazz" and home of Gospel Great Mahalia Jackson. Music has always been in his blood and apart of his life. Dreux started singing at the tender age of 4 at the historic St. Louis Cathedral School and St. Louis Cathedral church in the historic French Quarters. He started playing piano at the age of 8 and eventually self taught himself how to play the alto saxophone in Junior High School and marching in the performance band which performed in several parades during "Mardi Gras" season in the New Orleans metro area.
Dreux performed all around New Orleans and the metro area performing at various events. He has worked with music legends such as Chaka Khan, Kelly Price, Yolanda Adams, Byron Cage, Donald Lawrence, Daryl Coley, Kim Burrell, Karen Clark Sheard, Vickie Winans. Dreux is also cousin to world renowned and New Orleans famed Chef Austin Leslie who is the pioneer of "Creole-Soul" style cuisines made famous from New Orleans. He learned and mastered the art of homestyle cooking from his grandmother and studied culinary art from his cousin Chef Austin Leslie. Dreux has served as Minister of Music for various churches in Louisiana and Texas over his career and has earned his place as a future "Gospel Great" and musical icon.
Dreux released his demo/sampler project in 2007 entitled "A Sinner's Plea" which gained worldwide attention from his hit "For Your Love" a worship love ballad and recently released his hit new single "A Better Day" featuring New Orleans great Gigi Bodden and produced by famous producer and music icon Marcus Dawson who is musical director for The Potter's House with Bishop T.D. Jakes in Dallas, Texas. His new single is taking radio by force and being called "The Anthem Song" of the new year.
Dreux is also owner and founder of Houston Cafe Inc located in Houston, Texas opening soon! Dreux has also launched Soulful Chef Productions which produces his cooking shows webisodes, cooking demonstrations, and cooking show featuring many famous local and national culinary professionals. Dreux has also lauched his music and culinary scholarships presented to underprivileged students interested in pursuing careers in music and/or culinary.
