Dusty is the original Hardcore Honky-Tonk Man! Singer/songwriter Dusty Woods has been playing and singing for more than 45 years, much of that time on the road. Born in Vancouver, B.C., he has toured both as a bandleader and sideman throughout much of Canada and the U.S. His style is best described as hardcore honky-tonk - a mixture of blues, rockabilly, country and Cajun with just a dash of gospel.
He began in high school (mostly, like others before him, because it seemed like a good way to meet girls. Oh well, win some lose some) with “The Mutuals” and decided to keep doing it when he found out that people mostly didn't throw things at him and he sometimes got paid. Since then, he's played every kind of venue from small Legion halls to A-rooms and outdoor festivals with bands such as “Easy Toe,” “The Black Alley Blues Band”, “The Larry Roberts Band”, “The Bob Regan Show” and “Dusty Woods and His Cariboo Cowboys” to name a few, making friends and fans everywhere he's appeared.
Besides being an accomplished singer, guitarist, bassist and song writer, Dusty is an international recording artist with several albums available and more on the way. Dusty's original music is popular around the world - his songs are being played on radio stations in America, Canada, Germany, France, Sweden, Australia, Belgium and Spain, and he has topped Internet song charts as far away as Estonia!
Dusty now makes his home in Trail, B.C. with his wife of 32 years, Jeri-Lynn - an accomplished artist and graphic designer who helps with visual materials for Dusty's albums With a musical background that includes 50's rock 'n' roll, country, blues and folk, it was only a matter of time before he combined all of those influences and came up with his own blend – Ultimate Honky-Tonk!.
