EAST 22 WEST

The Band EAST 22 WEST is globally recognized and features ASCAP Singer/Musician/Songwriter George B. Henry II. Soulful contemporary sounds which speak directly to the heart. His music is a blending of all styles incorporating elements of Jazz, Soul, Country, Rock and Electronica creating a pure expression of Heart in the Universal language of Music. "Soular Electronica" is one way he has described the sound of his Music, but it is beyond labels.

From his roots in Saint Louis, Mr. Henry grew up surrounded by music. He would watch his father singing harmony along the streets of Compton Hill, Southside St. Louis. He sang harmony with his sisters in local talent shows against the now famous "Stairsteps". He soaked in the Blues stilings of B.B. King ,Albert King, Jazz greats like Kenny Burrell & Percy Green & walked among personalities like Anna Mae Bullock (Tina Turner) as well as Jackie Wilson & Red Fox. He was turned on to a then unknown "Jimi Hendrix" still playing with the "Isley Brothers", by his mother, Louise Henry, an amazing voice in her own right.

After making the commitment to music as his lifelong career, Mr. Henry made his way to L.A. He was blessed with the opportunity to spend time with Chuck Trammell at A&M Records. A&M Records in 1976 was abuzz with activity. A&M Records was home to George Harrison's Dark Horse Records where Kenny Burke of the "Stairsteps" was playing bass for him. Joni Mitchell was there with Pat Metheny working on the Hejira Album. Quincy Jones was at A&M Records with George Bohannon & the "Brothers Johnson". Rene Deknight manager of the "Fifth Dimensions" was all a part of the Hollywood crowd.

The experience Mr. Henry gained is apparent in the sophisticated sound and attention to detail in the engineering and production of all of Mr. Henry's Music. Powerful, engaging and Soulful. Everything is straight from the Heart and speaks the pure truth of the human experience.

Joining the Vision of Mr. Henry is Bassist/Artist Animator Wen Chang Whose experience includes playing with local SF bands and a VFX background including "A Nightmare Before Christmas" and Music Video Special effects make-up and VFX for local Bay Area bands. EAST 22 WEST's music videos feature Mr. Chang's Work under Mr. Henry's Knights of the Roses Publishing Video production division headed by Wen Chang.
