Eamonn Dowd & the Racketeers
Since the mid 90’s Eamonn Dowd and The Racketeers have brought
their fiery brand of americana to audiences throughout Europe, releasing six
albums along the way. In recent years Dowd has also toured solo throughout Germany,
Scandinavia, Belgium, The Netherlands, Spain, east coast USA and Canada.
After years of self-releasing material, Silver & Dust (2006) came out on German indie label
Cannery Row Records as did the follow up - Mansions Of Gold (2009).
Mansions was produced by Les Keye who also plays bass.
Longtime band member Chris Teusner is on drums.
Later that same year, Two Way Mirror - a collection of lost tracks and out-takes came out on Cheapskate.
Recently a couple of 7inch lathe-cut 45's have been added to the catalogue.
As Hot Press magazine said "There’s something raw and real about The Racketeers
that’s easy to love."

Tell Old Bill
2011
The song is a re-working of the old American folk song, covered by many but Dave Van Ronk’s version is a particular favourite. With a nod to 60's garage bands, Dowd and his crew make the song their own.

Silver & Dust

A damn fine example of gravel-voiced country rock, these songs are full of unaffected, unrefined humanity, a kind of world-weary, warts 'n' all honesty that's getting rarer in music. There is something raw and real about The Racketeers that's easy to love
