Du Bois, III is a third-generation specialist in the field of private investigation and security. A high school baseball and football star, Du Bois, III began his investigative career in 1960 when he joined Investigators, Inc., a family firm, and became the youngest licensed private investigator in Florida. Upon the death of his father in 1968 he took over as President and continues in that capacity today. Also in 1968, Du Bois became the National Football League’s Security Representative in Miami and continues in that capacity as well, currently in his 44th season.
Ed Du Bois, III has a proven record of accomplishments as a private investigator. His work has been profiled in numerous books, TV broadcasts and most currently, on film. One of Du Bois' most infamous cases, the Sun Gym Gang, will hit the big screen in April 2013 in a Paramount Pictures major motion picture titled Pain and Gain directed by Michael Bay. Ed Du Bois, III will be portrayed by veteran actor Ed Harris. His new single titled "Pain and Gain - Retribution Song" was inspired by his client, Marc Schiller, who was the true-life victim of the Sun Gym Gang. Du Bois states "I truly hope you enjoy this edgy, bluesy, rock and roll song.I enjoyed writing and performing it almost as much as I enjoyed testifying in court as I stared down The Sun Gym Gang!"
Du Bois graduated from Florida State University, married his college sweetheart, Carolyn "Sissy" Igou, and raised three children together. When Ed Du Bois isn’t running his investigative business he can be found relaxing on his property in South Bimini, Bahamas writing songs and his memoir - to be released in 2013.
