Biography

Ed Wingfield, born in Wichita, Kansas has been singing and performing for most of his life. Starting out singing in the church like so many other great singers of today, Ed has performed throughout the United States from Las Vegas show rooms to the smoke filled night clubs like Brendan's Blues and Lannie Garretts Clock Tower Cabaret in Denver, Colorado. Ed really knows how to rock a house singing the soulful blues of Johnny Taylor to the soulful ballads of Otis Redding.

During the early years of Ed Wingfield's career Ed performed on the road with such acts as the Frankie Lee Revue, Curly Bare-Foot Miller Show throughout the Texas area. During the 1980's Ed formed his own touring band called Mr. Wonderful and the Soul Shakers. He toured throughout the mid-west and west coast areas. Mr. Wonderful moved to Denver, in 1990 and began performing with the Sammy Mayfield Blues Revue, which has turned into one of the most dynamic blues shows in the Rocky Mountain area.

Ed has performed in Paris, France at the famous Maxwell's Café, and has shared the stage with music greats such as Ted Taylor, Barbara Ackland, Ron Banks and The Dramatics, Anthony Gardine (formerly of Little Anthony and the Imperials), and Little Johnny Taylor.

Ed is surely one of the great blues veterans of his/this era, keep an eye out for his soon to be released CD "Telephone Blues" on MPAC Records. Ed "Mr. Wonderful" Wingfield is one act you don't want to miss.
