Edwin M. Ferreras, is the Founder, Instructor, Choreographer and Artistic Director of Latin Fusion and Expression; LFX Dancers and LFX Records. His music/dance career started in 2002 at BMCC, where he graduated with an A.A. Creative Writing and concentration on music composition. He then entered City College, where he experimented with several programs including Jazz/Classical Piano, Music Production/Song Writing, and Early Childhood Education. He later graduated from CCNY at the top of his class (cum laude) with a B.A. degree in Music Education K-12 and high honors.
Aside from being an educator, Edwin is also a talented musician. As a composer, arranger, choreographer and producer, he has worked with various artists in the Latin Pop industries including: Aventura, Alex Wayne, Kiko Rodriguez, Naiah, Luis Miguel Del Amargue, Any Andy, as well as many others. He also plays various instruments and has a firm understanding of music history and theory. He believes that his experiences as a musician and dancer have offered him a unique advantage producer and composer, allowing him to interpret music in very distinct ways.
In January of 2013 Edwin produced and published his first musical production "Spanish Fly." His musical style is adapted from his dancing career with his Dance Company LFX Dancers and his musical works with his mentor Ismael Otero of Caribbean Soul as a collaborative work for project "Music for Dancers". His purpose with music production is to create music to inspire dancers, instructors, and choreographer around the world offering them unlimited possibilities with a fresh new sound that is sure to entice a dancer's creativity and versatility. This is the custom made song that performer's been waiting for, the limitless ideas that will inspire moving art, the much awaited style that culminates the expertise of a dancer, choreographer, and music producer.
