Efen

Brother's Bim and Rich Bowman established band EFen in 2009. What started out as a small band having fun in a practice room became serious in 2010 when they were asked to open for the Spirit of the Suwannee "Rock-N-Wheels" event. The bigger stage was quite intimidating for the small band from O'Brien, Florida but it ignited a spark within the band, and in an industry where there is very little chance of making it to the big stage, they found the desire to want to succeed. The guys knew that they had to stand out, that their performances and music had to be top notch. They took every opportunity to watch other bands perform and began taking the best of what they learned and started to mold it into their own. Singer/song writer Rich Bowman began writing music that was hard and heavy with a unique style of delivery and with his brother Bim banging away on the drums...the sound of EFen was born. Now that the band was being recognized for its hard-hitting riffs, they began receiving pressure from the fans to have them recorded. So, in the beginning of 2011 the band's first demo was released containing the songs Giddy Up, Neverago, Enforcer and Face Like That. The EFen fans supported the band's debut release and stood in line to get an autographed copy of the demo. Being an established band in the local music scene they decided to expand out into other markets. In April 2011 they competed and placed in the top ten out of thirty-five bands in the southeast region to perform at "Welcome to Rockville 2011" where they won an opening spot on stage to open for several bands including Godsmack, Seether, Puddle of Mudd, and Hailstorm. The guys felt like they were on fire and all their hard work and sacrifice of two years was paying off. Immediately after the show the band started taking action and went back into the recording studio to add two more songs, DIGG and Waste of Time, to the demo to make it an EP. The fans quickly embraced the new songs and local radio stations 100.5 THE BUZZ - "Locals Only " and ROCK 104 - "Internet Radio" began playing them frequently.

With the new found success of the band, they continued to play a grueling schedule, many times playing two four hour shows in a day, When the spring of 2012 rolled around the band competed against sixty other bands and again secured an opening spot for "Welcome to Rockville 2012". The guys couldn't believe that they were going to open for Korn, Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch and Evanescence. Watching the professional bands perform that night was inspiring and cemented the idea of becoming a headlining band even further into the core of the band. They needed money and the local music scene wasn't big enough to earn the kind of cash they needed, so new ideas were introduced. Trying to raise cash for new equipment plans to make an "EFen Calendar" filled with all the hottest girls in the area and record the rest of the album were set in motion. In the mean time, other opportunities were taken by the band doing opening acts for such great artists as, Vince Neil of Motley Crue, (newly signed band) Big Engine and Black Molly. Things couldn't seem to be going any better, but when deadlines for the calendar and album were missed it caused a ripple in the band. Two major shows, "Sturgis 2012" and "Lake of the Ozarks" had to be cancelled and the mounting pressures of success started to take its toll. After several months of frustration it was apparent that not all of the members were seeking the fame and fortune of the bright lights. In the fall of 2012 guitarist Rob Dawson (an original member of the band) and bassist Tom Wood resigned from the band. The Bowman brothers instantly began to search for new musicians that had the same drive and determination as themselves to help push the band towards musical success. Within a month they brought on bassist Ryan Walker and as a three piece they rocked the stage with incredible energy and opened a show for "Tracii Guns League of Gentleman". Currently the band is working on fifteen original songs with recently added lead guitarist Kirby Stanley and putting together a show that is gonna blow your mind in 2013.
