eight53 is a guitar driven alternative rock band from Portland OR that sounds like a cross between Muse and Foo Fighters with a classic rock influence of bands like Queen and Led Zeppelin
Benzo (drums & percussion):
Born the day after John Bonham's death, Ben grew up in a small town 30 miles south of Portland Oregon. As a child he was known to open the cupboards in the kitchen, pull out the pots and pans, and hit them with wooden spoons. Around the age of 10 he started playing in the local school band. Later, before high school, he played jazz for the Whiskey Hill Jazz Band, but was later kicked out of for playing too loud and aggressively. In 2004 Ben played in the Oregon State University pep band. In March of 2010 he joined eight53.
Richard Shank (vocal & keys)
Born in a small town in Michigan and grew up in an even smaller town in North Carolina. Richard's interest in music started showing at a very early age and he began teaching himself how to play the piano in his early teens.
Richard has been involved in a wide range of project from gospel to rock to country and back to rock again. He released a solo album in 2007 called "A Single Step" and moved to Portland OR in 2009 where he met Roman Bilko and eight53 came to life.
