Elaina June first appeared on the music sene 8 years ago with her first solo album "His Voice", a compilation of all original songs she had written over a number of years. This contemporary Christian album saw great success and gained national radio slots for the songs: 'Even If I Say' and 'Kyrie Eleison'. Her strong melodic piano playing and incredibly unique vocals gives her an edge that is distinct and powerful. She has been compared to artist such as Sarah Mclachlan and Nora Jones.
Since the success of her first album, Elaina has taken a break to focus on her family, in which she stays home with her 4 beautiful children, 6, 5, and twin 3 year old boys. She continues to write and sing in her local church and small mountain community. Just recently, she started recording her second solo album "Through the Restoration" which is a compilation of original worship music written over a span of 3 years during a family trajedy in 2007. Many of these songs are songs written about hope and faith, restoration and praise after her son was hit and runover by a 2 ton tow truck. Miraculously, he survived and forwent 3 long years of surgeries, ER visits, and extended hospital stays. Now 3 years behind them, they all look forward to a brighter future as Elaina continues to write and sing with her children.
Silent Night (Loke Ndo To Lome) is a dream come true for Elaina, as she had taken a break from recording "Through the Restoration", to get back to her roots of piano, her passion for arranging, and her love of Christmas classics. Through her own unique production of this album, she has taken traditional Christmas classics and added her personal touch of ivorys, and blended that with her beautiful voice, in hopes to still stick to the more "traditional" Christmas style. A personal friend of hers, Florence Benoudjita, offers her beautiful voice for 'Silent Night', sung in her traditional Sara tribal language in Chad, Africa. This traditional hymn by Josheph Mohr, is instantly transformed into a song of Jesus's love and hope across all nations.
Besides her love of music, she is a wife and mother of 4, who spends her days at home- teaching, caretaking, doing the laundry, sweeping the floors, cleaning the bathrooms, reading books before naptime, fixing lunches, having park dates, and fixing bumps and bruises. She runs the kids to soccer pracitces and gymnastics, helps lead worship at her home church eery week and partakes in community Women's Ministries, but before her days begins, she spends an hour or more in a corner knook in her living room, every morning, reading in her One Year NIV Bible. Her source of hope and strength.
Elaina could go into all the venues she has played for over the years, all the concerts she has performed, but the one thing she likes to see and hear about the most is the heart. Elaina has experienced so many blessings in her life, her son's second chance, her children, her marriage- just to name a few- and her heart's desire is to sing about it and share these blessings, the goodness of God, for all to experience.
