"It jumps into the ears of the innocent and strikes the heart of its Soul" Cashbox Magazine
Starting out listening to Etta James, Motown, Classic Rock and P-Funk Eliza in her pre-teens began writing after meeting Bootsy Collins in a Detroit Record store. Eliza’s musical ear, piano skills and god given voice took her on a journey that gained her a degree in Opera from Wayne State University in Detroit. Meanwhile, Detroit rock emerged as her direction, being a young vibrant female vocalist, who felt the calling to express herself through rock and blues. Locally, Eliza strives to perform and write with the best Detroit had to offer. She graced every venue with powerful vocals, charisma and a deep connection with the audience.
Fast forward to the chaos of 2008. After the passing of her father and a relocation to New York City where her pursuit of singing, touring and writing for a bigger audience conceived “No Frogs for Snakes” to sold out live shows. The City honed Eliza’s unique sound with new energy, honesty, integrity and passion. Eliza’s vocals and her band deliver a sound beyond your expectations of what live music is today!
Eliza is currently recording a new album with Tino "Funky Daddy" of the "Howling Diablos" and Motown Legend Barrett Strong! More to come!
