Elizabeth Busch

Songwriter and classical guitarist Elizabeth Busch weaves together a unique blend of classical guitar, angelic folk vocals, and profoundly thoughtful lyrics to create her own distinctively meditative, flowing style of music. Drawing from influences of her classical music background, love of Celtic vocal music, and songwriters such as Michael Card, John Michael Talbot, and Fernando Ortega, Elizabeth writes to express truth, beauty, and an honest hunger for God. Oregon pastor Terry Merrill says, “I personally was moved by the contemplative and reflective character of her vocals. She fills a niche for those of us who have a desire for modern Christian music but not the rock style that typically fills the Christian music airwaves… [Her] style reminds me of that of Loreena McKennitt, reflective and somewhat Celtic—a style by which to relax and quietly worship. ”

Elizabeth’s musical journey began with the classical guitar at the age of 7. After graduating with degrees in classical guitar from Colorado Christian University and the University of Southern California (studying under William Kanengiser and in masterclasses with Pepe Romero), Elizabeth began exploring songwriting as a means of combining her passions of creative writing and music. Her first solo guitar CD (Romance de la Guitarra: Music of Spain and Latin America) was released in 2008. In 2010, she released her first album of original songs (Consecrated: Songs Along the Journey). Her latest album, Redemption’s Mystery (recorded and produced by Mitch Dane), was released in March, 2013.
