An extraordinarily gifted and talented musical genius with a marked innate ability to play and compose music in a variety of genres purely by intuition. From the age of four she began playing the piano being taught by her mother, her uncle and others. Leaving her birthplace of El Paso, Texas, by the age of 21 she was in West Germany performing in various venues.
On her first instrumental release, composer Sheri Washington-Towns (Enanna) becomes tantalized by the mysteries and miracles of the natural world as well as the philosophy of the Tantric arts. Filling her world with melodies both sensual and enigmatic representing the basic elements of life. She travels deeply into the vagaries of sensuality and nature transforming the turbulence of her own life, as well as her concerns about the future of the world at large, into a collection of melodies distinguished as much by their emotional sophistication as by their often hypnotic musical inventiveness.
"As I compose any type of music, I draw from my personal life and put what I am feeling into each piece that I create." Says Enanna. Her intent is to convey the feeling, if not the specific circumstance of an intense period in her personal life: falling in love with someone who is emotionally and physically unavailable coupled with the harsh reality of being trapped in a loveless, abusive relationship. "I needed to channel my energy into music that mirrored my reflective moods".
Enanna recorded her album entitled "The Prophecy" in Atlanta, Georgia where she currently resides and is working on her next release.
She chose the name "Enanna" because she felt it best represented her own personality. The ancient Goddess "Inanna" being the Goddess of sex and war, she felt intuitively drawn to the name but changed the spelling slightly as a sign of respect and reverence.
