Erick Jon started his musical career already at the age of 15 in Cuba, singing traditional Cuban music and soon participating in many kinds of festivals and live performances. Due to Erick's unique vocal capabilities and great stage presense at young age, Erick got a chance to share the stage with the accomplished local artists suchs as Bobby Carcasses, and Fernando Alvarez. In 1997 Erick moved to Finland after collaborating with different music projects in Spain and Sweden. In Finland Erick kept working and performing with various salsa groups singing latin music and featured in electronic music projects with Pepe Deluxe and Nuspirit Helsinki. Erick also studied in the Pop & Jazz music conservatory where he kept refining his vocal style and graduated as vocal teacher. In 2005 the Popstars & Idols TV-formats had just landed in Finland, and Erick participated in the Popstars TV-show's 2nd season. Perhaps because he had more experience as a solo artist he didn’t make it to the Popstars band but got nevertheless lots of media attention. The hype and critical acclaim that Erick received lead him to work with Mwamba Records and he released the album ‘Wild and Free’ later that year. The album was very successful in Cuba and enjoyed moderate success in Finland as well, where Erick also toured after the album’s release. Between 2006 and 2009 Erick did some live performances both in Cuba and Finland and participated in Cubadisco festival in 2009. By the end of 2009 and beginning of 2010 he did a massive promotional tour in cuba, including several TV performances and tens of radio shows. By the end of 2010 Erick released his EP titled ‘Desiciones’ trough Xtendedmusic Productions, and made a tour that covered some cities in Mexico and Cuba. Right now Eric is concentrating preparing to record more material for his upcoming latin LP, as well as featuring other projects in Europe.
