BIOGRAPHY
FiRESiGN is a New York based indie band. The heart of FiRESiGN is its vocalist, Aya, the hard-rock hellion from Hiroshima, who has been hailed as the Japanese incarnation of Janis Joplin. Its heart-beat, is its bassist, the heavy metal headbanger from Hokkaido, Masaki Yamada.
Although, initially begun by Aya in 1998 as a vehicle to promote her music and poetry, FiRESiGN has, over the years, been host to a menagerie of musical misfits. The most notable of these is of course, FiRESiGN’s current bassist, Masaki Yamada. His inception in 2001, sparked the flames of resurgence that would begin burning away tethers to the past, and lighting a path to a then unglimpsed of future. And as the heat from their self-induced incubations rose, so too did Aya and Masaki. Tempered and reborn in the fire, they emerged from the shattered shells of society, ready to spread their wings across the world.
