Fina Dupa

Biography

"Dancy, catchy, and original...far more fun than the latest flavor of jam band without sacrificing any of the musical integrity." --Vail Daily

Denver-based funk-rock collective Fina Dupa is poised to rescue rock music from dumbness. Like great bands of the past (The Police, Steely Dan) and the few musically competent bands on today's scene (Dave Matthews, Maroon 5), Fina Dupa provides a musical experience that's both artistically satisfying and viscerally entertaining.

Fina Dupa's new release “Are You Happy Now?” hits you between the eyes with a tight, funk-inspired rhythm section, strong guitar-driven arrangements and soaring vocal harmonies.

The album’s songs address the dynamic nature of relationships and pay homage to both the good and the bad times. The driving, Chili Peppers-esque funk of “Helicopter” and “Casita” showcase infatuation at first sight. “Fallout” channels the feelings we’ve all had at rock bottom in a way that somehow combines Foo Fighters with early Police. “Heartache” describes the fleeting nature of love and sounds the way Maroon 5 would without quite so much studio production.

Very few musical acts combine non-formulaic songwriting, musical quality, and tight sound production the way Fina Dupa does. “Are You Happy Now?” takes all of these elements and places them before the music industry in an accessible and palatable way.
