Floyd Boykin Jr. is a Poet, musician, producer and Lupus activist. He is the founder of SpokenVizions Entertainment Group, L.L.C. and the producer of Project L.I.F.E. (which is a CD that was a fundraiser to raise money for the Lupus Foundation of Missouri). His primary instrument is the bass guitar, but he also plays the flute, the keyboard and a little bit of percussions. He is also the author of three poetry book; "Poetic Bliss With Lyrical Rhythms" ,"Bare Essence: The Soul Of Me" and "Waiting To Dance With Her Spirit". He has also released four poetry Cds ("Planet Liberation","EKLIPSE", "EARTHOLOGY" and now "W.A.R. on RedMoon7".
Floyd has opened for and performed with a variety of poets and other artists such as The Last Poets, Gill Scott-Heron, Dahveed Nelson, Malik Yusef, Goapele, Maya Azucena and Murphy Lee. Recently, he also created and released his own line of greeting cards called "PoeticByDesign.com". He was recently nominated for three awards by the 2011 National Poetry Awards organization. "P.S.P. (Psychological Stimulus Package)" was nominated for best spoken word record. P.S.P. appears on the album EARTHOLOGY. He also was nominated for "The Troy Poet Lewis" Founder's Award. But the award that he won was for his creation SpokenVizions Magazine. It won the 2011 NPA Poetry Magazine of the Year Award. A wonderful accomplishment for a wonderful publication.
The most recognizable project is the launching of the SpokenVizions Magazine and SpokenVizions.com, where he serves as the editor and designer of the publication. He is currently working on future music videos, a short film, and a host of other positive ventures.
