Forgive the Fallen is a hard rock female fronted band that gives you an extra punch! Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland the band has become one of the top local acts in the area, playing numerous shows with regional acts and opening for such national (and international) names such as Otep, Hellyeah, Soilwork and Within Temptation. The best way to describe the music is a chaotic form of rock, but in a good way that every song has its own unique feel. “We all listen to so many different styles of music that we can’t decide on one specific sound, so we do it all!” says guitarist Bill Wienecke
The band originally formed in 2005 with Adriana Galan (lead vocals) and Bill Wienecke (guitar) being the focal point of the group. The band released their first CD in 2007, which included 6 songs as a self titled EP. The EP was recorded with Jerome Maffeo (drummer of Jimmie’s Chicken Shack) and helped the band gain momentum. After years of playing the local scene and going through a difficult period of line-up changes, Forgive the Fallen finally finalized their current lineup which features co-creators Adriana Galan and Bill Wienecke; along with newcomers Mike Johnson (guitar), Dave Gascon (bass/vocals) and Rick Martinez (drums).
“This particular line up is different than the last incarnation of the band, the new version of the band is more intense, the melodic parts are deeper, the aggression is personified & the focal point of the band is lead singer Adriana who mixes clean vocals with aggro screaming.” – Bob Suehs, Rock and Roll Experience
Armed with a new line-up and an aggressive fist pumping sound, the band has been working the majority of 2010 on their first full length album: Resurrection! The album name was chosen by Galan and Wienecke because it pretty much sums up how things have gone for the band over the past 5 years: Success, failure, then when everything looks to be dead, bringing it back to life through hard work and dedication making it 10 times better!
Forgive the Fallen’s first single from Resurrection; “For You” was released in fall 2009 and was selected by local film maker David A. Cross as a featured song for the new horror film he directed called “Respire." The movie will be released nationally and internationally on Feb 15, 2011, with the song featured in the ending credits of the movie! The movie will also include a music video for “For You” that will be available in the special features section. The music video was directed and edited by Respire director David Cross as well.
The band’s second single from Resurrection titled “With Hope” debuted on 98 Rock November 21, 2010. The new single will also be featured in a new movie worked on in 2010 called “The Blinds” created/directed by David A. Cross and produced by guitarist Bill Wienecke. “The Blinds” also features another new song from the upcoming album called “Escape.” The movie will be available to the public nationally sometime 2011/2012.
Recording for Resurrection is still currently underway at Studio Unknown with producer Steve Antonelli and the mixing of the album is being done by Drew Mazurik. The release of Resurrection is tentatively scheduled for spring/summer 2011!
