Four Trips Ahead

Can you find love within rebellion?

Produced by lead vocalist Peter Wilson and mixed by drummer and Grammy Award-winning engineer Nick Cipriano, "Love and Rebellion" is the hard-hitting, gritty new EP from Four Trips Ahead. Spending the past 14 months in their rehearsal space writing and developing songs while playing dozens of successful shows debuting their new music, the band has succeeded in completing their strongest, most cohesive work to date without compromising their artistic integrity. Equally exciting, one of the standout songs from the EP, "Run to You", was mixed by veteran producer and engineer Nik Chinboukas (Testament, Alex Skolnick Trio, Acrassicauda, Chris Caffery), while all tracks were mastered by the legendary mastering engineer Roger Lian (Rush, Muse, Slayer, Coheed and Cambria). "Love and Rebellion" is the culmination of a highly creative and fulfilling period for the band. Successfully combining their exciting, adventurous trademark sound with heavier production, the new songs possess the urgency and maturity that mark Four Trips Ahead as a force to be reckoned with in modern rock music.
Four Trips Ahead roots date back to 2001, when seasoned New York City musicians, guitarist Brian Eisenpresser, bassist Dan Cassidy, original drummer Dan Walsh and lead vocalist Peter Wilson first came together in search of a new creative outlet. Instantly, the quartet recognized their common musical interests: creating heavy, progressive sounds with strong melodies and dynamics. In a matter of a few rehearsals at the infamous NYC Music Building, Four Trips Ahead was born. The band soon brought their high-energy show to audiences in New York City and throughout the tri-state area.

After independently producing three EPs, "Beginnings" in 2002, "The 505 Sessions" in 2004 and "39th Street Lullabies" in 2006, Four Trips Ahead released their long-awaited full-length, self-titled debut in 2008 on 505 Records. The group followed the release by touring on the East Coast, playing the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC and Organic Entertainments showcase at the WE Festival in North Carolina. Two videos were shot for the album: the live performance rehearsal clip for "The Gift" and the award winning story short for "A Moment". Loud rock formatted college radio played Four Trips Ahead on heavy rotation where the band charted on many top ten playlists including stations such as WRSU, WDTS, KSLU, KLPI and WQHS.

With the success of their first full-length release behind them, Four Trips Ahead began intense writing, resulting in 2010's "The Memories" EP. Desiring to keep the energy from rehearsals intact, the majority of the music was tracked over one extended summer weekend with overdubs at Spin Recording Studios in Long Island City and Analogue Muse in NYC. The songs connected well with radio listeners--"The Memories" charted at #5 most added on the Hard Rock/Metal CMJ charts in November of 2010 within its first week. Four Trips Ahead also made waves abroad, garnering great reviews and charting on hard rock/metal stations in England, Germany, Belgium and France. Notable UK rock magazine, Fireworks UK, helped champion the band in Europe, including the rousing track, "Remembering Who I am", on their new music sampler. The band also released a thrilling, dark-humored new video in 2011 for "This Night" while playing dozens of shows, including a headlining slot at the Highline Ballroom in NYC.

Emboldened by the strong response from "The Memories", Four Trips Ahead began once again writing and recording extensively. With the desire to keep the songs fresh, organic and inspired, the band returned to Spin Recording Studios over several sessions to capture the excitement. The first fruits from these recordings have now come to light-- "Love and Rebellion" will be released on May 27, 2014 while the exciting lead track from the EP, "Step Into My World", hits the airwaves throughout the summer complemented by an upcoming lyric video. Another track from the new EP, “Good Times Goodbye”, has already been featured in Fireworks UK’s spring 2014 new music issue (#64) with an accompanying feature about the band. Exploring the struggle for identity, self-reliance and faith in the midst of chaos and frustration with the belief that the pursuit of love can help you rise above all conflict, no matter how great or daunting, "Love and Rebellion" stands apart from much of today's contrived rock releases. Musically, Four Trips Ahead's "Love and Rebellion" EP is bold, brash and dynamic while lyrically it explores the aforementioned themes within various characters trying to make sense of their given lot. Now step into their world.

"Love and Rebellion" will be available on iTunes, Amazon and Bandcamp
