Frank Piombo

Biography

My first introduction to music came at the age of three. I remember sneaking into my grandfather's closet to strum his old acoustic guitar. Later, at the age of six, my family relocated from North Africa to Rome where I was able to enjoy the romantic sounds produced by my father's accordion. Next, at the age of eight I found myself, along with my family, relocating to the good old USA. Finally, at the age of thirteen, I was introduced to the great sounds of, a well known band known as, the "Beatles". After that, life as I knew it would never be the same. I guess, that's how it all started.

My musical carreer spans three plus decades of professional entertainment as a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. I have appeared as a lead guitarist and vocalist with many live bands throughout my career. My performance history includes work with bands such as Sidewalk Symphony, Angelo Uccello and Fantasy, Stepping Out, The New Prince Band, US & Co., and the original Infernos. I have shared the stage with such great recording artists as The Duprees, The Mellow Kings, Vito and the Salutations, and Vito and the Elegants. I have also shared the stage with various European performers, touring the New York Metropolitan Area, such as "I Nuovi Angeli" and the "Formula Tre." I have recorded several Jazz and Italian Pop CDs and have appeared several times, along with vocalist/keyboard player Angelo Uccello, on the "Steve Ames" cable TV show". In the summer of 2009, my song "Feelin' Funky" was featured on "Lady Jay's" web-radio - www.JazzMatrix.com/ladyjay. I have been featured many times on Udo Freter's Show called Blues Rockclub Radioshow located in Germany.

I recently started my own social network called "European Guitar Friends". You are all invited to join, even if you are not from Europe. It's a great place to get to know meet people with same interests and visions. Let's keep the music alive! www.europeanguitarfriends.ning.com/frankpiombo
