GMoney

New York City based bassist/keyboardist/composer/arranger/producer, recording artist GMoney is a gifted talent who's work fuses the genres of jazz, funk, hip hop, R&B and dance into a very funky and potient blend of jazz-funk (or sometimes refered to as Nu-Jazz) that is sweeping the country and the world overall by storm. The music is a fusion of hard driving dance and R&B grooves with the keys and horns adding color and a smooth jazzy flavor, and a 70's-80's funk bassline which serves as the underpinning and the foundation of the song's melody line. In the words of GMoney, "Inspiration for my music comes from a jazz background, as my mother was singing jazz professionally since the age of 9. And although in my household as I was growing up, gospel, jazz, blues, Broadway showtunes & and classic R&B were the order of the day in my household, around my peers I also listened to the sounds of 80's and 90's funk, classic Motown, old school hip hop, a healthy dose of rock and roll (all styles) and pop. My compositions represents a combination all of those musical influnences. My music is composed to be pro-active; that is the end listener is free to form their own thoughts and feelings of the music, based on how the music affects them. My experience in the music industry includes over 20+ years as a DJ, radio station personality and engineer and 5 years composing and producing tracks for website background tracks. In 2003 I took the route towards my own solo recording and performing career which has resulted in my 2 albums, "Just Kickin It" which was my debut album released in March on 2008, and now my 2nd album "Back On The Grind". I'm looking fordward to recording and producing many more albums, and a long and fruitful career as a recording artist."
