Galen Kipar Project

Biography

2009 feature in WNC Magazine as one of the top bands you need to hear.

"The care and meticulousness of a gourmet chef... the melodies and
arrangements defy expectations, the lyrics take surprising turns and
the adventure is a delight, every step of the way" "This album is
great" - Noel Hurst, Flagpole CD Review of Paper Sailer/ Editors Weekly
Pick- Athens, Ga

" I think of it as a sort of American Primi...tive, with
hits of Sandy Bull in the guitars, Brett Dennen in the voice, Donna the
Buffalo in the rustic simplicity, and something altogether new in the
wonderful orchestrations. In the words of Tina Fey, when I hear the
sounds of this nearby world, "I want to go to there." "
-DAVID GANS - Host of Greatful Dead Hour, musician, writer. Oakland, CA

"In Asheville, fans call his act a 'small-scale symphony.' It’s probably more like chamber folk/pop, sometimes reminiscent of Adrian Belew’s quieter moods." ~Tad Dickens, Roanoke Times

The Galen Kipar Project has established a solid foundation in the
Southeast region, garnering rave reviews for its live acts. In 2007 the
band began expanding its reach into other parts of U.S., touring
nationally as far west as San Francisco to the revered Knitting Factory in
Brooklyn. In 2009 the Galen Kipar Project played to a jam-packed,
toe-tapping crowd at the Kennedy Center’s renowned Millennium Stage in
Washington, DC.
