GARY THEROUX is a 2009 Emmy-nominated television writer who has created and written programming for Disney, PBS, CBS and others -- ranging from such three-hour specials as "Legends of Comedy" and "America in The '40s" to the 52-hour Billboard award-winning "History of Rock 'n' Roll." The winner of awards from Connecticut Public Television, The Connecticut Commission on the Arts and others, Theroux spent 20 years as the Music & Entertainment Editor of the world's most-read magazine, Reader's Digest, creating, writing and producing more than 300 CD and DVD releases with cumulative sales topping 39 million copies. Theroux's other long-running credits: as a UCLA instructor; entertainment historian; local and national radio producer, programmer and host; author of several books and countless articles, liner notes, etc. A versatile voice actor, Theroux is presently managing producer and head writer of the Emmy-winning TV talent showcase series "Community Auditions" (see He voices both the narrator and the elderly newspaper editor, Francis Church, in this 2010 production.
