Biography

Born in Aachen, Georg completed his degrees in performance and teaching cello and subsequently classical guitar at Freiburg, Germany. Georg lives today in the Blue Mountains / Australia and shares his time between performing, teaching, composing, recording and writing on music.
In 1993 he recorded the 6 Suites for cello solo by J.S.Bach as well as Benjamin Britten Suite No 2, Brahms Sonata in e minor and Schubert Sonata for Arpeggione for 2 MBS FM. Since then he has recorded 8 CD's, solo and in Duo and Trio.
He proposed in 1997 to give regular cello concerts in the Cathedral Chamber at Jenolan Caves / Australia - reputed for the world most pure acoustics. These concerts have developed into the longest series of cello concerts in history: more than 140 cello solo concerts in 12 years; more than 10 000 visitors from all over the world have taken the drive to the isolated cave. Every 3rd Saturday of the month you can visit the cello concert at 4pm, every 4th Saturday of the month the Paganini Duo performs Gypsy favorites in the cave with Georg on guitar and Gustaw Szelski on violin (for Bookings ph (AU) 02 6359 3911)
