George Peguero

Multi Award winner George Peguero has been working as a professional singer since the age of 10. He won at many National Competitions and did several appearances in the Cuban National TV.
Singing every week in La Casa de La Trova and others events across Cuba he had the opportunity to sing alongside prestigious cuban musicians and received numerous awards such as ‘Trovadour A’ and ‘Merito Artistico’.
In Havana he managed to establish his reputation as a musician playing in the most popular place, La Bodeguita del Medio, for 3 years.
Later, he joined Carlos Manuel y su Carapacho and the salsa band Charanga Latina, under the records label Ahi Na'ma Music.
George left Charanga Latina and moved to London, where he has set up his own Salsa Band.
In October 2000 he released his first single 'Esto es amor' and do his first public appearance as a solo artist in London as special support to Gilberto Santa Rosa at Scala, Kings Cross on the 12th November 2000. Since then he has resident spots at several Latin Clubs, Casinos and 5 Start Hotels and Festivals across Europe, Asia and North Africa (Portugal, Italy, Norway, South France, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Croatia and Morocco) working with important international artist such as Motown Records legend Wilson Pickett, Spanish legend Isabel Pantoja, Original English Pop Idle Will Young, Mobo Award Winner and Mercury Prize Winner rapper Sway, Alesha Dickson and British Strings Quartet Escala.
In 2002 George is rewarded as the Best New Artist of 2002 by the Cuban radio station Radio CMKC with his fist album 'A Cuba' and was considered the most interviewed artist across Cuba on the same year, when he did appearance in National TV and life Radio Shows across the country.
He launched his new salsa album 'Bohemio' (October 15 of 2006), with a live performance with his 17 Piece Salsa Orchestra at Scala, London and managed to distribute it across the world breaking his own sale records in less than 2 months.
His music reached BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 3 among others popular Radio Stations in the U.K, also in Orlando (U.S), California, New York, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Italy, Florida and Cuba and is now available in HMV,, Itunes, Spotify , Sterm Music and other popular online stores.

His third Album Let’s Make It Salsa has been released on January 28 (2012)

George 's band was voted '' probably the best salsa party band in the U.K.'' by Time Out, September 2007 and won a LUCAS Award as vocalist of the year 2011.
