Gianni Placido is a didjeridooist since 1997. He began to play didjeridoo by himself, as an autodidact. Then he deepens his studies with Paride Russo in Cesena (Italy). He regularly studies in workshops with the major representatives of didjeridoo all over the world, as Mark Atkins and Jeremy Cloake. Gianni Placido began to teach didjeridoo in 2002. Since 2005 he permanently teaches didjeridoo in Bologna, in the music-laboratory “Container Club”. Gianni Placido has always been interested and practised mind-body disciplines as yoga and martial arts. In 2004 he becomes a member of ASIA , a school of Yoga in Bologna. Since 2009 his art of didjeridoo assimilates what he studies in Hatha Yoga. His first demo cd is “Cantandomi” (“Singing myself” - 2009). He often collaborates with other artists: R.H.F.S. (Foggia, Italy), Tubus in Fabula (Bologna, Italy), The Blatters (Bologna). Now he performs in solo concerts or in duo performances with Ab-Origine, afro-percussions and didjeridoo. Gianni Placido organizes tutorials, seminars and collective or individual lessons all over Italy. He organizes workshops in Mama Africa Meeting, a big summer meeting in Italy.
