Born poor on a Cotton and Turpentine farm on the outskirts of the Okefenokee Swamp in Georgia, young Gitlo worked hard in the fields with his family by day. at night he played the guitar. Growing up influenced by gospel and blues he learned it young. His father's influence from church allowed young Gitlo to hone his skills.
Bluesman Sonny Boy Williamson discovered young Gitlo, a prodigy at 13. Sonny Boy was so impressed with the boy's music he asked Gitlo's parents if he could pay him to go on the road with him. So Gitlo's father, a Preacher, Rev. John Henry Lee and his wife, a devout Christian reluctantly let young Gitlo start his career.
Gitlo has toured for 46 years up and down the Eastern seaboard headlining and show casing to crowds - like at BB Kings in Orlando, Florida. The list of musical greats Gitlo has had the honor of playing with over the years is too long to mention.
Gitlo's brand-new digitally mastered CD is second to none. His original music and ingenious Southern character will always leave his audiences filled and moved.
Gitlo's playing and vocals are a wonder to behold live and he is looking forward to traveling the world and playing for all his fans.
"Thank you to all my fans for all the years of love and support"
