However, although the band holds artists such as Bob Dylan, the Zombies and the Mamas and the Papas in high regard, Goldie Wilson's sound is a synthesis of these influences and those of the modern music world in which they grew up. Produced by garage rock mastermind Jim Diamond (White Stripes, Romantics, Dirtbombs) and recorded in the heart of Motown, the band’s eponymous debut clocks
in at 55+ minutes and heads down a variety of sonic avenues without ever straying too far from Goldie’s signature sound. The band’s core guitar/bass/keys/drums lineup was augmented for the record with ukulele, transistor organs, lap steel, timpani and programmed rhythm tracks to create a lush and varied sound.
