Lawrence Greenman was born in London in 1976. He always liked music but didn't listen to much, until he started taking LSD and heard a voice from God telling him he had to make music. It wouldn't be an easy path, Lawrence let it be known to all and because things were less liberal in those days he was sectioned. With this disturbing experience Lawrence lashed out and was diagnosed with schizophrenia.
Later in 1994 Lawrence went onto Thames Valley University to study popular voice to seek solace. Lawrence then went to the Colchester Institute to study for a Classical Music Degree under Chris Phelps. His first study was guitar and second study voice.
Lawrence has always had a keen interest in guitar: teachers including Don Sandford and Eric Roache, a great friend, who used to give him three hour lessons, for a fiver. Lawrence also studied classical guitar with Prof. Carlos Bonell, also a great friend and mentor.
Lawrence's first album was released in 2014 titled " Generate Organise Destroy ". Lawrence passed at Colchester with honours and later taught maths and music while studying at London University for PGCE.
Lawrence Greenman's friend and producer Mark Newby-Robson also helped to create many popular white labels with Lawrence from 2003 to date. Lawrence is painstakingly re-mixing the popular white labels and re-releasing them - so watch this space ! The early general consensus is that they sound truly fantastic.
The album " Jew Drops From Heaven " will be re-released under a shorter title " Jew Drops ". This new white label is largely taken from the album " Jew Drops From Heaven " re-mixed and re-mastered with no expletives. This album will be a treat.
The album " Generate Organise Destroy " was released in December 2014 to great acclaim. It is a musical voyage through cosmic lands, featuring Carlos Bonell on classical guitar and Lawrence Greenman on electric guitar - produced by Mark Newby Robson's maxdb studios. The music is inspired by famous classical pieces and arranged to sound futuristic in nature. Quoted by Jamstar as being " A journey into the future with ancient sounds! " - naming Carlos and Lawrence as guitar gods!
So don't miss out on this album as you and your children will all equally enjoy it. Relaxed in places, hard driving riffs and beats in others, defying convention and pioneering new guitar techniques and sound. Do not miss out...
This album is a revelation in musical sound. Buy the CD, take a deep breath and see you in 40 years when you come out the other end.
All the best
