Gregory’s love of music can be traced to his early childhood. Though many different instruments appealed to him, his favorite was the saxophone. Discouraged after failing his sixth grade music class, he put the saxophone away.
Years later, however, fate intervened. Drawing strength from God’s inspiration, he decided to try music one last time. Through a musical journey filled with sacrifice, obedience and great patience, the instrumental sound of Gregory is enjoyed by audiences of all ages and backgrounds. His musical performances continue to be eagerly anticipated as well as widely celebrated.
On this journey, because of his unique style and powerful playing, Gregory has adapted the name known to all as the “SaxMan”. Along with his many other accomplishments, he has recently completed an in demand CD project entitled “For His Glory” that was released in Fall 2011. In 2012 he has been celebrated for winning the 2012 Texas Gospel Music Excellence Award, and he is the recipient of the 2013 YMCA Greater Houston Minority Achievers Award.
Gregory’s steadfast faith stems from his favorite biblical verse, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4.13). His motto to encourage others is, “Failure is Not Your Finish.”
