In late 2009 I began wondering if I could make music on my computer. My background in music consisted of playing the trombone in concert, marching, and jazz band; playing trombone in my home town's symphony orchestra; serving as drum major in high school; and developing a rather extensive music collection (over 15,000 tracks). And I had never composed any music.
I got ahold of a computer application called MAGIX Music Maker, gave it a try, and discovered that, yes, I CAN make music on my computer! My compositions tended toward the funk electronica vein of music. After completion of about my 20th song I felt that I might have an album to share. And so I released my first album, SMACK DABBLE, in January of 2011. Along the way I upgraded my music production software to Cakewalk's SONAR, and developed a library of over 115,000 audio loops.
I am still making music on my computer, and will be releasing another album shortly. And now some music promotion company wants me to play live shows ..... I'll let you know when I figure out just how I'll do that!
