Agus Teja Sentosa is a flute maestro from a small village near Ubud, Bali. He is the youngest of four children from his parents I Nyoman Kadjil and Ni Wayan Darpini. He began playing the flute while attending elementary school, Yet spent a lot of time during this period practicing the gamalan. As the years progressed, his interest in wind instruments increased. This sparked the obsession in learning all there was about wind instruments from around the world.
Gus Teja continued to challenge himself by creating new instruments to go along with his passion of flutes. Ranging from whittled wood instruments to full fledged bamboo flutes. He is always experimenting with creating new works of music by incorporating musical instruments from modern instruments with traditional sounds. After years of patience and practice, Gus Teja world music finally released their first album Rhythm of Paradise in 2009. After the great success of their first album they put forth a new wave of collaboration of modern meets traditional with their second album Flutes for Love in 2011. In which was mentioned as the best-selling album in Bali.
After some reflection and inspiration he has finally released his third album entitled Ulah Egar. The album was inspired by not only traditional Balinese music, but also sounds from around the world. Gus Teja has focused his attention on a more upbeat, uplifting album to show the true feeling of Bali.
