Guy Bergeron

Biography

Due to his avuncular nature and rugged outdoorsy good looks, Guy has been referred to by some insiders as the Fred Mertz of the 6-string. Guy’s penchant for guitar began in the mid 1970’s, as a mere fresh faced schoolboy. By the late 1970’s after much encouragement from his parents, Guy packed his guitar out of his bedroom, grew out his sideburns and took off for the bright lights of the tool shed where his music would be less aggravating to the rest of the household.

After trying several different local blues and rock cover bands to varying degrees of obscurity, Guy migrated back to his acoustic roots, and began to gather a solid local following as a solo performer. This is still the guitarists favorite way to bring his music to the people live, although the recordings are more fleshed out because...well, because we have the technology and it sounds good.

Guy can still occasionally be heard live at local pubs, coffee houses and summer hootinanies. Guys recorded work has been featured in the TV shows “Trailer Fabulous” and MTV’s “Made” as well as some local Indie films.

SPLENDID EZINE'S ANDREW MAGILOW: "Guy Bergeron is a genre-defying musical anomaly. Bergeron does a superb job parting the muddy waters between blues and contemporary indie rock."
