Harold "Jukebox" Robinson is a native of Tuskegee, AL. He has been a professional musician since the age of 15. Robinson joined The Corvettes headed by The Late Great bassist Richard Pinkard. The Band headlined for Peggy Scott & Jo Jo Benson, along with Tyrone Davis. He also played for The Duponts where Tom Joyner was a member. He later joined the Vibrations where he met his exwife Hazel Gay & Kim Chappell who later sang background for The Commordores. The Robinsons joined the US Navy Band & were stationed in Pearl Harbor HI. Harold earned a B.A. degree in Music from Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL and a MM degree from The University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL. Robinson returned to ASU as an Assistan Band Director under Danny Davis as the percussion specialist. He moved to Bessemer, AL and served as the Elementary School Band Director for all 5 elementary schools in the system & as the Assistant Band Director for the Jess Lanier Puple Tiger Band. He also earned a Alabama Teachers Certificate at ASU specializing in Instrumental Music for Grades K-12 . Robinson also worked as an Elementary School Band Director in the Birimingham City School System at Kirby Middle, Robert E. Lee Elementary, Powell Elementary, Arrington Middle and others during his teaching tenure there. Harold is an Instructor in the Department of Communication's Music Recording Technology Program at Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL. He has played with Jose Carr, Bo Berry, Tommy Stewart, The Birmingham Heritage Band, Dr. Frank Adams, Bobby Owens, Jim Bell, John Bull, Robert Moore, Ona Watson , Cleave Eaton & Eric Essex, all Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame Musicians. Jukebox has also performed with Ben Vereen, Stevie Wonder, Kirk Whalen, Howard Hewett, Connie Francis, others during his long career.
He is currently performing R&B & OLDschool Music in a ONE MAN BAND, (vocals, bass, piano, drum machine) & has played at The Montgomery Reniassance Hotel, Covention Ctr & Spa, The Exchange Lounge, The East Side Grill, Ruddles English Pub, The Harriott II River Boat, The Dailriadia Bar & Grill(The Keys), Blue Byrds, Down The Street Cafe, The Montgomery Country Club , Wynn Lakes Country Club, Arrow Head Country Club & other Venues in the Montgomery Area.
