Harriet Goldberg is a songwriter from the Boston area. She writes songs in the style of the old standards - ballads, bossas, and swing. Harriet’s music has been heard on "Hawaii Five-O (CBS), on the pilot episode of "New Amsterdam" (FOX), on the new FOX TV show "The Finder" and in “Meine Schwester,” an Austrian TV movie. Her new CD, “My Time to Fly” has been nominated for a 2012 Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) award for best recording. “Spring is Coming Soon” from that CD will be heard on Showtimes’s “Californication” in March 2012. Ms. Goldberg’s debut album, "Bring Back the Moonlight," placed fourth in the vocal jazz category of the Just Plain Folks 2004 Music Awards. "Suddenly You Walked By" from that CD placed 2nd in the jazz category of the 2002 Billboard Song Contest. Ms. Goldberg's song, "Now and Then," on her "Ocean of Dreams" CD was a finalist in the jazz category of the 2004 USA Songwriting Competition.
In March 2011 Ms. Goldberg was one of three songwriters to be featured in Sue Matsuki’s series “People You Should Know” at Don’t Tell Mama in Manhattan. Her work has also been featured at the MAC/ASCAP Songwriters' Showcase, the Metropolitan Club and the NY Sheet Music Society in NYC. In Boston Ms. Goldberg's music has been featured in Boston Sings Boston III and IV - cabarets of original material by Boston songwriters, in NOMTI's (New Opera & Musical Theater Initiative) 2004 Birth of a Musical Cabaret, at the Regattabar and Scullers, two leading jazz clubs in Boston, as well as at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center. She has received the 2009, 2010 and 2011 ASCAPlus Awards.
