Henk Wieman is known for playing his own contemporary classic piano compositions, he calls it "modest music". Modesty reflect not only his music, but is also one of the characteristics of Henk Wieman as a person. His compositions are made with an outstanding feeling for melodies and harmonies. In his concerts, featuring piano and string orchestra he evokes people's deepest emotions. Henk Wieman lives in The Netherlands (Europe) and wants to reach a world audience.
Over the years Henk Wieman created and developed a style of his own. As a performing pianist of his own music, he lets the grand piano express his emotions and moods. His "touch" has never been heard before and is beyond any comparison. Henk's music consoles, invigorates, unites and leaves the audiences deeply moved.
Henk Wieman correlates with music. At the age of five he began playing the piano, at seven he enrolled at the music school and when he was 15 he performed his first piano concert.
Henk studied 'classic piano' at the conservatory in Utrecht (The Netherlands). After finishing this study, he graduated in 'easy jazz music' at the conservatory in Hilversum (The Netherlands). Members of the examination board were the Dutch top composers, orchest leaders and conductors Jerry van Rooyen, Rogier van Otterloo and Tony Nolte. After he graduated he became a teacher at both institutes. This makes Henk Wieman the first Dutch musician who graduated at a conservatory in classic music as well as in easy jazz music.
Henk Wieman combines his composing and performing of songs and scores with teaching students to play the piano. He developed an "auditory learning method". His method is unique because it helps classical pianists to learn how to improvise and, subsequently, how to teach pupils to improvise and to play modern music (pop, beat, etc.) based upon his own compositions. He composed hundreds of re-enact melodies and has visited almost every music school in The Netherlands.
Henk Wieman's compositions can also be heard on his two albums: 'Into your Heart' and 'For You', where his feelings are translated into music. This is music that you will listen to with your heart.
"Henk composes more and more. He translates his feelings into music and as a romantic pianist he adds the impassionate execution of his own music. The music from Henk comforts, relativizes and contrasts disappear. You wil realize that you are listening with your heart."
