Hidden Frequency is the name of a solo project by electronic musician Kimmo Koivula, born in Helsinki in 1983. He started making electronic music in the late 1990s with a Roland MC-303 groovebox, which was his first piece of equipment. At first the music was mostly techno and D'n'B but over time lots of different styles and genres have been explored.
Hidden Frequency's sound is all about atmospheric soundscapes and chilled grooves with warm analog sounds and electric guitars. Genre-blending songs are fusion of electronica, break-beat, drum & bass, downtempo, chill out, ambient, post-rock and experimental music. The music is inspired by astronomy, science-fiction and great artists all around the world.
