I LOVE RICH

Essentially, you can break the world of music fans into 2 categories. There’s one group, people who think Chicago’s I LOVE RICH are arguably the greatest under the radar rock and roll band of the last 15 years or so. The other group, simply put, are people who don’t like rock and roll.

I LOVE RICH have been churning out rock and roll hits since the late 90’s. Kicking ass and sharing the stage with legendary bands like the Dictators, The Queers, Captured by Robots, The Dickies, and countless of others, the band has perfected their quite impressive live show and knows how to rock any audience. And their annual RICH Mass show (held somewhere around Chicago every December 23rd) has become an event that can’t be missed for rock fans from all over the Midwest.

The current line up, which would also be considered the classic line up as it’s been together about a decade now, features original members RICH (Vocals/Bass) and Drewblood (Drums and Percussion), as well as FULL THROTTLE and CHUCK E. SLEAZE sharing the duel guitar duties.

So, when asked what makes the new I LOVE RICH CD, “RESPECT THE RICH” different from the previous 4 classic ILR releases, front man RICH offered this little opinion. “We really wanted to write a song that would bet on the radio. Clearly, it’s been proven that if Americans love one thing, it’s a good sensitive love song. So, I decided, rather than just writing some stupid some silly/clever song about fucking or how great I am, why not write something showing off our more sensitive side? So with that in mind, I sat down and wrote out the most emotionally revealing song I have written to date. And it’s called “YOU’RE SO HOT, I’M GONNA FUCK YOU WITH THE LIGHTS ON”. Clearly, this is a tale of heartfelt masculinity that a younger band would not be emotionally or spiritually mature enough to write.

Obviously, while their music and stage show has gotten better with time, in some ways
not much has changed with these guys. They bring they party rock like they always have, for well over a decade now, which is fantastic news for everyone who is fan of good time rock and roll.
