Incantation (Mike Taylor, Tony Hinnigan, Tony Maloney) are a UK group specialising in traditional South American music, featuring panpipes, charango, chajchas and other traditional acoustic folk instruments of the region and beyond.
Incantation's top selling album went gold in the UK in 2006 and has since been featured in numerous film soundtracks and is considered a reference standard for all panpipe albums. Their music has captivated large audiences world-wide.
Extending beyond world music, Incantation strive to produce music which remains faithful to traditional values, whilst appealing to Western ears.
The Atacama album was inspired by the Chilean miners ordeal of 2010. Incantation have written and produced 13 tracks of evocative music which take you to the place and share with you the Chilean miners’ story. Together with native Chilean instruments, strings, brass, rock and flamenco guitars and all manner of percussion create a rich and diverse album.
