Indi grew up in the Washington, D.C. area, listening to music rooted in R&B, soul, jazz, blues, and classical. Music has always been a part of her life. A third generation singer, she grew up listening to stories about her paternal grandmother’s “big-band era” jazz singing experiences, attending her father’s performances and also watching her aunt, whom is a world-renowned opera singer and music educator.
Although Indi had been a part of several choirs growing up, she did not begin writing songs until her second year of college and discovered that she had a natural ability to turn words into beautiful melodies. Feeling a little hesitant to enter into the music business as an artist, she spent quite a few years working on the business side of music, and also pursued other educational interests.
Years went by until Indi was on her way to earning a Ph.D in another area when she realized that she needed to put her educational pursuits on hold and start the process of working on her first album. She remains happy that she finally found the courage to contribute to the musical legacy of her family.
Indi considers herself a multi-faceted artist, with projects in music, film and dance health education. What she has learned from all of her experiences is that all of them should work together for God's purpose. One of her missions in life is to use all of her talents for the "Greater Good" and to show the world that the Sky is the Limit! Indi currently has her first album, "Society's View" available in stores and on-line. She is currently set to release a series of new singles and also is working on her sophomore album.
