BIOGRAPHY
IN THE CASKET was formed in 2006 in Upstate NY.The 1st lineup was Justyn-drums, Shawn-vocals, Dave Yaiser-bass, and Roy Divan and Jeff Dragonette-guitars.They formed with 1 goal in mind; to create a brutal, complex, dramatic extreme metal sound. To combine the vast array of influences into one unique sound, and leave nothing on the floor. After a short time together we lost Jeff and the first answer for the 2nd guitar spot would come when the band enlisted the services of an old friend, Kyle Hendrikson. It was during this period that the band started gaining a strong local following, and even won the local Metroland magazine 2008 Metal Band of the Year.Unfortunately,it was also during this period that Dave’s interests strayed from the band, and Dave left to pursue other interests. We were able to briefly fill that void with a good friend,Travis Morgan. Both Kyle and Travis would depart; Kyle for personal reasons, and Travis wanted to pursue a career as a session bassist. After they left it was decided that a return to the roots of the ITC sound was necessary for the band to survive and Dave came back on bass.Something else was missing and another axe-weilder was needed. After a few try outs Dave came up with a solution, that being Dane Houshower,a friend of Dave’s brother. In the young and talented guitarist, the band found the missing link to completing their sound, achieving a tightness and precision like never before.Dane had learned the entire ITC back catalog very quickly, and the band began churning out new songs showcasing their style. Unfortunately after this Dave once again left but even without bass the band soldiered on,recording a 3-song Ep with the help of former guitarist Kyle in 11/09. Kyle didn’t only engineer and produce the EP,but also did all of the bass tracks. With the new lineup and no shortage of fresh songs, nothing but good things seem to be ahead for the band that 518Fever.com voted the 2009 “Metal Band of the Year”. ITC kept plugging along and playing many shows after the 2009 Ep, and since they were giving the EP away for free they started picking up fans around the world, with almost 20,00 downloads of the EP. They also started getting attention from some international metal websites. Finally in 2010 they found a full time bass player once again, Long time friend Joe Foy joined up and things just started getting better. In 2011 Kyle came back into the band but this time playing keyboard/3rd guitar. On July 14, 2012 In the Casket is releasing their new CD "You Could Get Hit By a Truck" and have numerous opening slots for international metal bands lines up.
