Rocking the turntables and the microphone since he was 14, Iron Lyon has produced numerous mixtapes, toured Japan and Canada as well as the U.S. & found his home in NYC for the last decade where he has become a well-known mixtape DJ, club DJ and MC. Lyon combines his roots in turntablism, his natural party rocking skills & his knack for reading a crowd spinning a diverse blend of hip hop, reggae, r & b, classics, electro and more. Recently Iron Lyon has DJ’d alongside the likes of DJ Premier, Questlove, Q-Tip, Funkmaster Flex, Kid Capri, Biz Markie and many more at large venues including Santos, Brooklyn Bowl & his current residency Greenhouse. Iron Lyon also has recorded & released two full-length LP's and two EP's featuring artists like Sean Price, Craig G, C-Rayz Walz, Ed O.G. & Slim Kid Tre where he showcases his lyrical abilities as well as his scratching skills. In addition Lyon works in the South Bronx as a teacher for an after school program called Urban Art Beat where students learn to write, record & perform as well as music production & dance. Whether it’s from behind the turntables, on the microphone or in the classroom, Iron Lyon is dedicated to the art form, to the people & to the music.
