Growing up in a small town in Utica, New York, J. Antonette always had a love for lyrics and melodies. Entertaining her family and friends with her silly skits and tabletop shows, her parents knew she was destined to entertain. At a young age she was strong-minded and driven. Throughout her adolescence she became interested in all different types of genres and forms of expression. J was determined to excel and express herself in ways ordinary words couldn’t. Words poured onto the pages, melodies flew out of her mouth. Her passion as a lyricist began.
“Take a little Amy Lee, mix in some great guitar with a modern electronic beat, throw in some very personal lyrics and you've got J.Antonette. With a set of pipes like that..the sky is the limit." - Rainzilla Mic Thrilla ( K Rock 94.9)
"Swirling pop rock. Atmospheric, moody but with a big heart. The lyrics are heart wrenching but without being sappy or overwrought. It's a delicate balance and J.Antonette nails it. She is an artist worth spending your hard earned pennies on." - Chris Bro, 1071 THE PEAK "NEXT SHOW"
"A smash. J.Antonette is multi-talented and stunning. The entire package, both vocally, and creatively. Period." - DJ React , SiriusXM Radio
" As a producer, often it takes time to fine the right feel for an artist. The great thing I found when working with J was that she's a chameleon. She has 1000 different voices, tones and approaches, and she owns them all. It was like a breathe of fresh air ." - Jami McGraw, ' Studio Manager ' Rain Music Group
She's neither gothic nor punk. “I’m just me. I’m a feminine rocker; I like heels and sneakers. I’m wild with emotions: often times a non-conformist. Laughing is probably one of my favorite things and yes, I have my “blonde moments,” but I feel that I’m successful when I can move people with my music and be moved by them in return. I love the way music is like a fantasy world. I love that you can envision a movie every time you hear a good song. I’m happy and mad all at the same time and a little bit crazy but that makes me, me! Most of all, I love to love.”
