Biography

J.D. Nash is a contemporary Native artist whose music straddles the fence of country/southern rock/blues. With over 30 years of singing and songwriting experience, the songs performed by J.D. and his band Red Circle, are all original and all eclectic.

J.D.'s songs run the gamut from spoken word, through traditional country, around rock-and-roll and back.

Highlights of J.D.'s career include:

Opening for such acts as Doro Pesch (Warlock), Chris Caffery (Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Savatage), Skylar Wolf, Burning Sky, Tracy Lee Nelson, Annie Humphrey, Star Nayea, Buggin' Malone and Wayquay.

Received 6 Native American Music Award submissions for nomination in 2007 for the album, "So There I Was..."

Garnered a Native-E Music Award for the song, "How You Gonna Be?". - 2008

Performed at the Benefit for Leonard Peltier Concert, Phoenix, AZ - 1998

Performed at the annual Oglala Commemoration Concerts, Oglala, SD - various years

Performed at opening night of My Life Is My Sundance in Boulder, CO - 2007

Was included on the tribute album "Working For the Machine - A Tribute to Circus of Power" - 2008
