J.D. Webb & The Downstate Ramblers
J.D. Webb: J.D. (The Road hog) is originally from Southern Illinois and now lives in Baker City, Oregon. J.D. has been in bluegrass music for most of his life and has spent many years out on the bluegrass circuit. He toured with the award winning 70'S - 80'S version of The Downstate Ramblers where he played banjo and sang harmony vocals with the group. Now in 2009 he has revived the name and is once again touring as the leader of the group. He is the primary songwriter for The Downstate Ramblers and does the rhythm guitar work and lead vocals.
Judy Glendy-Webb: Judy is originally from Nebraska and now lives in Baker City, Oregon. Judy grew up in a musical family and played bass with the her father and brother for many years. She is an accomplished bassist and does the majority of the groups vocal harmonies. Judy has worked with many groups over the years. She has worked with such groups as The Country Cross Section, The Hen Pickers and Rambler Addition. She lends a rock solid bass to the groups hard driving sound.
Caleb Dostal: Caleb is from Missoula, Montana. Caleb, is currently 15 years old and has been playing banjo since the summer of 2006. He also plays guitar and dobro. In his few short years playing his instrument Caleb has surpassed many of his teachers, friends and fellow banjo players! He gained interest in bluegrass music when he heard an old bluegrass CD that his family had. The banjo instantly caught his attention and inspired him. He knew that bluegrass music and the banjo were where he wanted his life to go. He joined The Ramblers in 2009 playing the 5-string banjo. Caleb has a unique ability as a Songwriter and Arranger. He does most of the arrangements of the bands materials. His hard-driving style adds excitement and drive to the bands sound.
David Gerthung: David was born in Southern California and lived there for 11 years. He started playing mandolin at age 9. He regularly attended the San Diego bluegrass club once a month. Then moved to Ohio lived there for 4 years. David moved to Marsing, Idaho where he now lives with his wife and their 2 sons. David Joined the Ramblers in 2009 on mandolin. He does the mandolin work and sings harmony vocals. David also does some of the arranging of the groups materials and has a great ear for grassing up obscure songs.
