J. Harris plans on taking the gospel music industry by storm with his humble yet confident personality, poignant and authentic lyrics, and dedication to living what he sings about. "With every song I write, I try to first and foremost make sure it relates to myself but also make sure it can relate to someone else." Having sung in church choirs since he can remember, J. was very familiar with gospel music early on, but it wasn't until his freshman year in college that he decided he would pursue a career in gospel. "I always knew the Lord, and I was actively building my relationship with Him, and that's when I began to feel he was calling me to sing for Him." J. will be the first to admit that he didn't initially have a passion for singing, but it was his mother who spoke it over his life. "My mom made me sing all the time, and she even told me it would get me through college, and sure enough it did." Although J. has a dedication to making music that touches, entertains, and edifies, his main goal extends further than just that. "It's about saving souls, and if one person can move one step closer to giving their life to Christ or even rededicating their life by listening to my music, then I have accomplished what I set out to do."
