Jacqueline Bhuyan, born in 1941 in Elkhart, Indiana, former college and private music teacher, is a classically trained musician. She has been composing piano music for over four decades, drawing on the Romantic and Impressionistic styles of the classical tradition, as well as elements from from ethnic folk music, jazz harmonies, world music and from her time spent in contemplation in nature. In addition to piano, she has studied voice, violin, viola, cello and percussion, music theory and composition. Jacqueline has been a member of various orchestras and choirs throughout school and since in community productions. She has been performing her compositions locally for many years. Jacqueline also works as an advocate for the arts and music in education. David Darling, also born in 1941 in Elkhart, Indiana, and Jacqueline grew up together playing in orchestra. David, a classically trained Grammy nominated cellist, performer, teacher of improvisation, and advocate for music in education, joins Jacqueline with his multi-track celli improvisations on four of the tracks.
