Jakub Kościuszko was born in 1985 in Szczecin, Poland. He started to play the guitar at the age of 8. In the age of 16 his biography was placed in the ‘Lexicon of Polish Guitarists’. In 2004 he graduated with honors from the Music School in Szczecin, where he was a student of Piotr Palac. In 2009 he graduated from the classes of Piotr Zaleski at the “Karol Lipinski” Academy of Music in Wroclaw and maestro Zoran Dukić at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.
He is a laureate of several international guitar competitions. He participated in master classes of such great guitarists as: Abel Carlevaro, Oscar Ghiglia, Marcin Dylla, Pavel Steidl, Marco Socias, Scott Tennant, Roberto Aussel, Aniello Desiderio, Krzysztof Pelech, Fabio Zanon. He also received lessons from the most distinguished Polish teachers: prof. Wanda Palacz, Marek Zieliński and prof. Marcin Zalewski.
Jakub Kościuszko has performed recitals in Poland, The Netherlands and Germany, being invited to festivals in Szczecin, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Lodz, Zielona Góra, to mention but a few. He has performed with orchestras such as: Szczecin Philharmonic, Swietokrzyska Philharmonic and Zielona Góra Philharmonic. He received grants and scholarships from the Municipality of Szczecin, Friends of Szczecin Society and the National Fund for Talented Children. In 2010 he recorded his debut CD "Here Comes The Silent Dusk. Music of Marek Pasieczny.".
