About JAMES KNIGHT & THE BUTLERS
James Knight was born in Miami, Florida where he started playing drums around the early age of 2 years old and went on to become a member of a Caribbean band at the early age of 6 years old. Around the age of fourteen he began to pick up the guitar that his younger brother Leslie L. Lewis had purchase from a music store in the downtown area of Miami, Florida. By the time (Billy James Lewis aka James Knight) was 15 years old he began to play guitar for top name artists like Sam & Dave, Betty Wright, Clarence Reed, Gwen McCray, Frankie Beverly (of the group Maze) and Ben E. King, and the list goes on. At 19 years old James Knight decided to travel a different past to stardom he form the group James Knight & the Butlers and began to travel from Miami, Florida to Northern Canada and the Newfoundland’s.
